It is our honor and privilege to edit the work of Dr. Bertram P. Karon into this collected volume. Each of us have gotten to know Bert Karon well over the years. As students of his during our undergraduate and graduate educations, we hung on his every word during lectures. It was obvious to us as students that we were in the presence of a great teacher then; and we have thought back on those meaningful lectures ever since. We were among many to later to become colleagues and friends of his. It truly has been a joy to reflect back on the impact he’s had on each of us as we poured over his six decades of professional contributions to the fields of Psychology and Psychoanalysis.
