PAIN IS DEAF
Revised and Expandded Edition by Laura Molet Estaper
Translated by Montserrat Barragán
“Laura Molet Estaper provides unparalleled testimony to the psychological experience of many abused women and many cancer patients as well. Having one’s body invaded by something growing and deadly destructive evokes all the memories (conscious and unconscious) of implicit early invasions, which are also devastating. Every abused patient and every cancer patient needs an analyst who can hear what this author hears: pain, history, anger, grief, and
the possibility of courage. This text is a gift to every therapist and every person who suffers.”

“This moving volume addresses pain and the human condition with profound insight and poise. It invites readers to explore new perspectives on trauma, creativity, suffering, and transformation. Focusing on the courage to give voice to pain, Molet brilliantly analyzes abuse, remorse, reparation, and the healing process, making a remarkable contribution to the psychoanalytic field.”
